Mesa Verde
in Colorado

We stayed at Best Western in Cortez. The room was fine. We found a very good
Mexican restaurant on the way to Mesa Verde called Fiesta Mexican. Also on the
way to Mesa Verde was a great gift shop called Mesa Verde Pottery (http://www.mesaverdepottery.com/).
Many of the items were made at the pottery, and were made in a variety of local
Native American styles. Since I was looking for a souvenir (not an investment),
this was a perfect shop for me. Highly recommended.

The ruins in Mesa Verde were created by the Anasazi. Little is known about why the abandoned these ruins.
